The Winnipeg Jets and Colorado Avalanche are playing in the Jets earliest “they cannot play like they played last game because this game has the potential to be a bloodbath” game of the season. And this is very true against the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Aside, but based on all the talk last year during the Stanley Cup Finals, I forgot that Nathan MacKinnon was not the Avs captain based on how he was talked about. Gabriel Landeskog is the captain. Anyways, back to the game.

The Avs are not the team that won the Stanley Cup last year. They no longer have Nazem Kadri as he signed with the Calgary Flames in free agency. However, they are still a good team and a team that the Jets need to come out ready to play and keep their intensity up against. If they do that or the Avs are sleeping, the Jets should have a good game.

The other thing the Jets should do is look at making a change on defence. Even though I have defended Logan Stanley here and there, he is not a top six defenceman in the NHL nor is he one of the Jets best seven defenders in the system. He is someone who has always had a lot of backing, but the Jets have Dylan Samberg waiting in the wings and it is time to give him an honest chance at the NHL and becoming a regular. The Jets need to improve on defence and the improvement is probably a player they already have.

Now, this is the NHL and this is the Jets. They have a nasty (in a good way) habit of playing well against the Avs, so it is hard to count them out. And anything can happen as it is the NHL.
