The Winnipeg Jets and New York Rangers are facing off tonight in the Jets season and home opener. The Rangers opened their season last night against the Minnesota Wild. The Jets will be without head coach Rick Bowness as he is out with COVID until a later date (I am not sure about the NHL’s COVID policy anymore, but last I checked the Manitoba government recommends five days and a negative test to return to work/school etc).
The Jets will be looking to start the year off on the right foot. They were able to activate Mason Appleton from Injured Reserve today and he should be in the lineup tonight. Scott Arniel will be the acting head coach tonight in Bowness’ absence.
