The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens are entering game three with the Jets down 2-0 and on the road. There is the possibility of Paul Stastny playing tonight, but it is the first half of a back-to-back, so who knows if he is capable of playing two nights in a row now. According to Maurice, he will be taking the warm up and they will take it from there. I have bad news for any Ville Heinola fans out there: he will not be entering the lineup as it seems like the rest of the lineup will remain the same. The Habs will not make any lineup changes today.
When it comes to the Jets making no lineup changes on defence, it shows that they cannot make the distinction between Connor Hellebuyck keeping them in a game and them playing well. They gave up numerous odd-man rushes to the Habs and Carey Price is playing in a way that has him matching Hellebuyck save for save. Having a goalie play excellently is not a bad thing, but it can mask numerous issues. That is where the Jets are at and they need to be cautious about thinking everything is okay because Hellebuyck can bail them out. They need a system that doesn’t rely on Hellebuyck bailing them out for them to be a championship team.
