Drafted in the sixth round, 190th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Columbus Blue Jackets, Petrell has 18 points (7G, 11A) in 95 games for the Edmonton Oilers (2011/12-2012/13). Petrell reached his career-high of nine points in both 2011/12 and 2012/13, and career highs of four goals in 2011/12 and six assists in 2012/13. Petrell, a fourth-liner at the NHL level and not a major offensive producer in the other leagues he played for, spent the bulk of his career with HIFK in the Finnish Liiga, playing for them 2003/04 through 2010/11, during the 2012/13 lockout, and from 2016/17 through 2019/20, with his two-season stint with the Oilers, a handful of games with their then-AHL affiliate, the Oklahoma City Barons, one season with the Swiss National League A’s HC Geneve-Servette, and two seasons with the SHL’s Lulea HF. He finished his last NHL season with nine points (3G, 6A) in 35 games for Edmonton and 11 points in 26 games for the Liiga’s HIFK. Gazdic’s career highs are four points, reached with Edmonton in 2014, two goals, reached in 2014 and 2015 with Edmonton, and two assists, reached in 2014 with Edmonton. Gazdic was an enforcer, a low scorer who even failed to crack triple digit points in nearly 400 games in the AHL. In his last NHL season, he scored zero points in 11 games for New Jersey and seven points in 37 games for AHL Albany. He finished his last pro season scoreless in seven games with AHL San Diego.
