Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Montreal Canadiens

Time: 6:30 PM CDT

TV: Sportsnet, CBC etc

Radio: CJOB680

The Winnipeg Jets and Montreal Canadiens are meeting for this one-time only special second round playoffs. Both teams are not supposed to be here and yet here we are. The Habs just came out of an intense seven game series against the Toronto Maple Leafs where they came back from a 3-1 deficit while the Jets have been resting after sweeping the Edmonton Oilers. One team is rested while the other team is amped up. How will that impact game one?

Beyond that, the Jets and Habs match up reasonably well and should play a good series before that. Neither team is that different with the edge in the net going to Connor Hellebuyck based on his consistency this year although Carey Price can meet him save for save. In a perfect world we get a really fun series where the two goalies duel it out for a bunch of games.

The Jets will most likely stick with the same lineup again tonight that they used in game four against the Oilers. The Habs could change their lineup depending on player availability and whatever Dominic Ducharme is feeling with his team. Expect to see Artturi Lehkonen return to the lineup early in the series.
