Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Ottawa Senators

Time: 6:00 PM CST

Channel: CITY, SportsnetWest, Sportsnet360

Radio: CJOB

The Winnipeg Jets are winding down their season and this time they are playing the Ottawa Senators. They are hoping for an easy game against the Sens, but the Sens are not an easy out. They make teams work for their wins and it shows with how many teams have struggled against them.

But good news first: the Jets are in fact in the playoffs and will get to play in the divisional knockout round (I think that is how it starts) and it sounds like Paul Maurice is going to give Ville Heinola another chance (or multiple chances) this season. This should have been happening in March at the latest with Heinola, but what can you do. Add to that the fact the Jets are relatively healthy and things are looking good on that front.

The Sens will always be the Sens and while they have had some positive moments this year, they have struggled a lot. They’ve taken some steps forward, but with their current roster it is easy to see why they have lost a lot of games and why fans have hope for the future even if that future still includes Eugene Melnyck.
