The Montreal Canadiens are without their heart in Brendan Gallagher. The Winnipeg Jets are without their captain in Blake Wheeler and everything is fine. Paul Maurice said Wheeler might be dealing with a concussion and that is something he will be checked for, but everything is fine. There is no way a team would let someone play with a possible concussion...

The Habs are coming off of a series with the Toronto Maple Leafs. They are also without Carey Price so we could see their third string goalie tonight. The Jets are well rested with a bit of a mini-break because of the Vancouver Canucks entering COVID protocol. Thankfully, the Canucks have not had any new cases announced for a while.

Strategy wise, I think it is fair to say that the Jets need to keep on concentrating on playing the whole game. While this is not a groundbreaking thing to do, for the Jets it absolutely is because they are so good at not engaging for periods at a time and then fighting their way back into the game or holding on for dear life. They will also want to make sure their lines are balanced and attack the Habs slightly less mobile defence with all the speed they have. Now don’t be late to the early game.
