Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Time: 6:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: CJOB

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Toronto Maple Leafs again and it is too bad that the Jets are on the second half of a back to back because they really do match up well against the Leafs. They will have Connor Hellebuyck starting which should help the Jets. Hellebuyck had a rough game against the Ottawa Senators on Monday, but that happens and it isn’t the end of the world.

The Leafs lost their last two games and did not look good doing it. All teams go into slumps though and the Jets are going to have to make sure their legs are going so they can possibly take advantage of the fact the Leafs are vulnerable right now. In fact, it would be a good time to insert a couple players into the lineup. Someone like Ville Heinola should really be put in for a few games, so when he inevitably has to play in the playoffs he has some in-game experience from this season.

On the other hand, the Jets should probably further shake things up and add in a new forward again, not only for fresh legs, but to prepare that person for the inevitable playoff game they will have to play. Alas, the lineup will remain the same.
