Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Montreal Canadiens

Time: 6:00 PM CST

The Winnipeg Jets got their lunch handed to them everywhere but the score board the last time they played the Montreal Canadiens about a week ago. They will be looking to rectify that as well as win the game when they play the Habs tonight. The Habs are coming off of their first win in the Dominic Ducharme Era and will be looking to build some momentum after being decimated on special teams for much of the year.

The Jets did play better against the Vancouver Canucks on Tuesday. While it was not a perfect game, they refused to let Vancouver grab any of the momentum and instead kept their foots on the pedal the whole game. There are still cracks including the fact that Paul Maurice does not understand that while Nathan Beaulieu can play in the NHL, he should not be playing every game especially in the top four.

Maurice’s player usage is a whole article unto itself. It involves unpacking what he says vs. what Kevin Cheveldayoff says in regards to players and the team’s needs. There is a lot of interesting things that must go on behind the scenes that no one knows about. However, I do not think that anyone expected Beaulieu to be playing in the top four unless catastrophic injuries hit.

Anyways, early bed time tonight!
