Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Toronto Maple Leafs

Time: 6:30 PM CST

Channel: Sportsnet

Radio: CJOB

Imagine, it is still light out and you are watching the first period of a Winnipeg Jets game. That is your reality tonight if you live in the eastern or central time zones. The Jets are playing the Toronto Maple Leafs in a national game. While this game would normally be a measuring stick, the last time the Jets went into Toronto they left with 5/6 points.

The Leafs are having goalie issues or at least a controversy. Frederick Andersen is the Leafs starter. Jack Campbell is their best goalie. Andersen is currently injured, but it sounds like Jack Campbell could be back shortly. If he is not healthy yet, that would be another good omen for the Jets who would most likely be playing former Jets backup Michael Hutchinson.

As for the Jets, maybe tonight is the night that they will make a lineup change. Hopefully their new lines continue, but it would also be fun to see some fresh blood in the lineup especially if that fresh blood is in the shape of Ville Heinola. At this point a teddy bear would make a fun line up change. Anything. I swear. If the Jets do play like they did against the Calgary Flames on Monday night, they will most likely get a good result unless the hockey gods are against them.
