Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks

Time: 9:30 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: CJOB

I swear the NHL is purposely making these games as late as possible so I have trouble focusing on the on-ice product. Whatever the reasoning is, we’ve once again been treated to a red-eye match between the Winnipeg Jets and Vancouver Canucks. The Monday meeting saw Winnipeg largely coast to a 4-0 decision over Vancouver. Connor Hellebuyck earned his first shutout of the season and the third line had a night to remember.

Vancouver, on the other hand, would much rather forget the embarrassing number of ways they fell apart. The defensive markings, odd-man rushes against, and sloppy third period all contributed to a disastrous outing. To make matters worse, Bo Horvat also left the game with a significant injury. It’s unclear if he’ll be back in tonight’s game. The Canucks forward unit was already missing Pearson and Pettersson. If Horvat is out for any length of time, Vancouver is utterly cooked. They were barely treading water as-is.
