Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks

Time: 9:00 PM CST

Winnipeg hockey has been an experience this year. Night in and night out, you’re left wondering which team is going to show up. Earlier in the week, Winnipeg got run over by the Oilers but somehow won 6-5. In the second effort, a stronger performance from the Jets, Winnipeg lost 3-2. The Jets now hit up Vancouver for a spell, and I’m not sure what to expect. The Canucks are a relatively weakened team, but the Jets haven’t always taken these squads to task.

This game will be won or lost in the depth match-ups. The Canucks have an expensive but unproductive bottom-line situation. The defense is also on shaky ground, giving Winnipeg a shot at victory here. If the Jets can stay out of their own way, they should be able to control the game at even-strength. They Canucks also don’t have a player of McDavid’s caliber, which may ease the pressure a bit. Let’s hope Winnipeg can get things on track in Vancouver before their Toronto and Montreal swings.
