Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Edmonton Oilers

Time: 8:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: CJOB680/Power97

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Edmonton Oilers tonight and they will be without Pierre-Luc Dubois who is out with an undisclosed injury, but on the trip and expected to play later this week. It is expected that Nate Thompson will be back in the lineup tonight and hopefully Kristian Vesalainen will remain there as well. It appears that Logan Stanley is officially out of the lineup as he has been sent down to the taxi squad. Although Stanley was not the best player out there, he had a lot of positives and was doing a better job than Nathan Beaulieu.

The Oilers are still the Oilers and that should bring some peace to the Jets. However, depending on their lineup decisions they have three good defencemen and a couple okay forward lines. In short, the Oilers remain the Oilers. They do have Mike Smith back, but Smith is not some goalie that will save them from themselves. Smith is a bandaid that is not always effective at helping the Oilers stop the bleeding. He can be good, but he can also be bad. Oh to be their Oilers and their many, many issues.
