Preview and GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs. St. Louis Blues

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: CJOB 680

The Winnipeg Jets are playing their divisional rivals the St. Louis Blues. The Blues have been fairly ravaged by players in COVID-19 protocol. I don’t know if their immunity waned that much, if they were asymptomatic, or if they got the Johnson and Johnson vaccine which is less effective. Just know they got hit by COVID a lot harder than the Jets did.

The Jets are also welcoming Connor Hellebuyck back. Hellebuyck first missed time for the birth of his first child and then he developed a cold that was not COVID-19, so he had to stay home until he was symptom free. Eric Comrie was able to fill-in with surprising effectiveness which bodes well for the Jets going forward.

The Jets have also had great success this season with lines that do not resemble their lines from previous seasons and my prediction is that this will continue. I should also note that while they might not be as good as their record indicates, that is not a bad thing. Wrack up the wins while things are going well and then you have a buffer if you hit a rough patch. Take advantage of playing teams like the Chicago Blackhawks and things should go well for you.

Of course, the Jets need to keep looking to improve, but as long as they are winning they can take their time to do that because they are at least getting points on the board.
