Game 6 Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Anaheim Ducks

Time: 9:00 PM CDT

Channel: TSN3

Radio: CJOB

The last time the Winnipeg Jets played the Anaheim Ducks Kyle Connor scored a hat trick and the team exploded for six goals. It was glorious to see. As Saturday night showed us, this season could be a complicated season with the Jets having to work hard for some wins which is fine because the Jets were able to do just that.

We do not know when, but Eric Comrie is going to get a start this road trip. I would explore starting him against the Anaheim Ducks and the Chicago Blackhawks to maximize Connor Hellebuyck’s rest. Chicago at the very least seems like an obvious start for Comrie as they are just plain bad.

Outside of goaltending, the Jets have been coming around as a team and are really starting to look like they could end up being something more. They have the skill in goal and up front. If they are able to keep on evolving and improving on defence, they could become one of the stronger teams in the league. What is most interesting is they are doing this without Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele. Their absence has forced Paul Maurice to actually play different players more and the results seem to be good so far. Hopefully this continues for the Jets and they grow from what could have been a massive set back for the team.

As for the Ducks, it is hard to say if they are who they looked like last time the Jets played them, but that is true for any team. It is interesting to watch their play evolve between games against the Jets because last year we did not have any way to compare the two teams.
