There was a time when the Winnipeg Jets and Nashville Predators used to mean a game of juggernauts. It no longer does. However, it does mean that we get to see the Winnipeg Jets again and after they put up a great game with a depleted roster against the Anaheim Ducks, they are looking to do it again.
The Jets roster is depleted because Blake Wheeler and Mark Scheifele have COVID. We do not know how badly they have it, but I believe TSN mentioned that Scheifele was asymptomatic and not actually sick. If that is the case, then the testing the team goes through is doing it’s job. That is especially true if the potential outbreak was stopped with just Wheeler and Scheifele. One to two players getting COVID is about the best case scenario if people do get COVID.
Okay, the other side is the Nashville Predators who appear to be about the same level as the Jets this year. Which is funny because they seem to mirror each other every year. Last year was the only time we couldn’t really measure them against each other because they never played the same teams. Hopefully, this year the Jets will pull away from them as they vastly improved their roster and were showing signs of improvement against the Ducks.
