Game 2 Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. San Jose Sharks

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the San Jose Sharks in their second game of the season. This will also mark the return of Mark Scheifele after he finished serving games in his four game suspension from the playoffs. It will be interesting to see who comes out of the forward group tonight. Many fans think Cole Perfetti had a solid game on the third line which is a good sign going forward.

With or without Scheifele, the Jets do have to get more shots on goal from close range and not rely on long range shots from the defence. That comes down to the forwards being active and engaged.

One thing to watch is how the older players on the Jets do. We often talk about kids not looking like they belong, but when it comes to veteran players it is often overlooked how they need to have their roles changed to better fit where they are at on the aging curve. Yes I am talking about Blake Wheeler specifically as I know Paul Stastny was playing out of his intended role thanks to Scheifele being out. And he is not at the morning skate today (this is a very late preview).
