I Can’t Believe It’s Not Ottawa!

Well hello there friends! Winnipeg Jets hockey is back after an absence of less than 24 hours. Coming off the heels of a 3rd period curbstomping of the Ottawa Senators, the Jets now welcome the Edmonton Oilers to the fray. The Oilers are the definition of “not great Bob!” A leaky defense and lack of scoring depth once again plague Edmonton.

Despite the Oilers being less than stellar, the Jets cannot rest easy against a team that still has Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl. Power plays with those 2 usually end in goals against, so the Jets need to be on their best behavior. Brining Heinola back into the line-up is a must, especially against Edmonton’s speedy top-6.

The Oilers are going to have to figure out how to shut down the Copp-Stastny-Ehlers line. This unit seems to be gelling well and shredded Ottawa’s defensive structure on Saturday. If the Oilers can’t silence this unit, they’ll be in for a long, long night. The Jets aren’t always on the ball, but when they are, they can still light some fireworks in the offensive zone.
