The Winnipeg Jets will have another new jersey. All NHL teams will have a new jersey whenever games return with the reverse retro jerseys. We do not know much about them, but know that based on the previously released colours, we will not be getting a tribute to the Jets past which lies in the Atlanta Thrashers.
The Jets and the Trashers are linked. Like it or not the Jets history lies in Atlanta and they should start embracing that. Instead of going back to the former Jets (now Arizona Coyotes), they should embrace their southern roots and start to give us the iconic powder blue or maroon jerseys. Not because they are pretty, but because they represent the recent history of the team. The team that gave us Blake Wheeler, Tobias Enstrom, Andrew Ladd, Dustin Byfuglien, and more. That team is worth celebrating. Instead they are shoved off into a back closet and not let out. It has been nine years. The Thrashers deserve to be respected for their role in the Jets history.
