NHL: Stanley Cup Playoffs-Vegas Golden Knights at Dallas Stars Perry Nelson-USA TODAY Sports

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks acquired a 2021 fifth-round pick from Ottawa. They signed defenceman Kevin Shattenkirk to a three-year contract. They signed centre Derek Grant to a three-year contract. They signed centre Chase De Leo to a one-year contract extension, and defenceman Andy Welinski, right winger Andrew Poturalski, centre Vinni Lettieri to one-year contracts.

Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes placed left winger Michael Grabner on waivers to buy out his contract. They signed defenceman Kyle Capobianco to a two-year contract extension and signed defenceman Ilya Lyubushkin to a one-year contract extension. They will be wearing their Kachina-style third jerseys for 25 home games this season and have made their purple crescent moon logo from 1996 to 2003 their centre ice logo. They signed right winger Tyler Pitlick to a two-year contract. They signed right winger John Hayden to a one-year contract.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins re-signed defenceman Kevan Miller to a one-year contract.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres signed right winger Tage Thompson to a three-year contract extension. They signed goaltender Jonas Johansson to a one-year contract extension. They signed left winger Zemgus Girgensons to a three-year contract extension. Left winger Vladimir Sobotka has signed a one-month contract in Sweden with the SHL’s Vaxjo Lakers. They signed right winger Tobias Rieder to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Matt Irwin to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Brandon Davidson to a one-year contract.

Calgary Flames

The Flames signed goaltender Jacob Markstrom to a six-year contract. They signed defenceman Alexander Petrovic to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Christopher Tanev to a four-year contract. They re-signed centre Byron Froese to a two-year contract and left winger Zac Rinaldo and right winger Buddy Robinson to one-year contracts.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes made no moves this week.

Right winger Justin Williams has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the first round, 28th overall, in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft by the Philadelphia Flyers, Williams has 797 points (320G, 477A) in 1264 games, as well as 102 points (41G, 62A) in 162 playoff games, with Philadelphia (2000/01-partway through 2003/04), Carolina (partway through 2000/01-partway through 2008/09, 2017/18-2019/20), Los Angeles (partway through 2008/09-2014/15), and Washington (2015/16-2016/17). His career highs are 76 points and 45 assists in 2006 and 33 goals in 2007, both with Carolina. While Williams was a middling offensive producer in his career, those career-highs representing the only years of his career in his he had at least 30 goals or 60 points, Williams gained a reputation as “Mr. Game 7” for his tendency to go on scoring hot streaks during the playoffs, especially in extra important games, though he actually scored as many points per game in the playoffs as he did in the regular season. Williams represented Carolina in the 2007 All-Star Game, won the Stanley Cup in 2006 with Carolina and in 2012 and 2014 with Los Angeles, and won the Conn Smythe Trophy as playoff MVP in 2014 with Los Angeles. Williams finished his final NHL season with 11 points (8G, 3A) in 20 games. Williams, 39, was widely expected to retire after spending the first half of the 2019/20 season unsigned as he mulled over retirement.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks acquired centre Brad Morrison from Los Angeles. They signed left winger Dominik Kubalik to a two-year contract extension.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche re-signed centre Sheldon Dries to a one-year contract and signed left winger Miikka Salomaki, right winger Kiefer Sherwood, and centre Mike Vecchione to one-year contracts.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets acquired centre Max Domi and a 2020 third-round pick from Montreal. They acquired right winger Cliff Pu from Florida. They acquired a 2021 fifth-round pick from New Jersey. They placed centre Alexander Wennberg on unconditional waivers with the intention of buying out his contract. They signed Domi to a two-year contract extension. They signed goaltender Matiss Kivlenieks to a two-year contract extension. They signed defenceman Gavin Bayreuther to a one-year contract. Left winger Marko Dano has signed a one-year contract in Slovakia with the Slovak Extraliga’s HK Dukla Trencin.

Dallas Stars

The Stars signed defenceman Andrej Sekera to a two-year contract extension. They re-signed goaltender Anton Khudobin to a three-year contract.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings placed right winger Justin Abdelkader on unconditional waivers for the purposes of buying him out. They signed left wingers Adam Erne and Taro Hirose to one-year contract extensions. They signed right winger Bobby Ryan to a one-year contract extension. They signed defenceman Jon Merrill to a one-year contract. They signed centre Kyle Criscuolo and goaltender Kevin Boyle to one-year contracts and right winger Riley Barber to a two-year contract.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers signed right winger Jesse Puljujarvi to a two-year contract. They signed centre Kyle Turris to a two-year contract. They signed goaltender Anton Forsberg and centre Alan Quine to one-year contracts and centre Seth Griffith to a two-year contract extension. They re-signed left winger Tyler Ennis to a one-year contract.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers acquired defenceman Markus Nutivaara from Columbus. They signed defenceman Radko Gudas to a three-year contract. They signed centre Carter Verhaeghe to a two-year contract. They signed centre Alexander Wennberg to a one-year contract. They signed left winger Ryan Lomberg to a two-year contract. They signed right winger Vinnie Hinostroza to a one-year contract.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings acquired defenceman Olli Maatta from Chicago. They signed right winger Matt Luff and centre Michael Eyssimont to one-year contracts. They acquired centre Lias Andersson from the Rangers.

Nashville Predators

The Predators acquired centre Luke Kunin and a 2020 fourth-round pick from Minnesota. They have bought out centre Kyle Turris and defenceman Steven Santini. They signed defenceman Mark Borowiecki to a two-year contract. They signed defenceman Matt Benning to a two-year contract. They signed centre Nick Cousins to a two-year contract.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils acquired defenceman Ryan Murray from Columbus. They placed goaltender Cory Schneider on unconditional waivers with the intention of buying out his contract. They signed goaltender Corey Crawford to a two-year contract.

New York Islanders

The Islanders signed defenceman Sebastian Aho to a two-year contract extension.

New York Rangers

The Rangers acquired a 2020 second-round pick from Los Angeles. They signed goaltender Keith Kinkaid, right winger Anthony Greco, centres Colin Blackwell and Kevin Rooney, and defenceman Anthony Bitetto to two-year contracts and right winger Jonny Brodzinski to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Jack Johnson to a one-year contract. They re-signed defenceman Brandon Crawley to a one-year contract.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators signed defenceman Josh Brown to a two-year contract extension. They have unveiled their new home and road uniforms. They acquired goaltender Matt Murray from Pittsburgh. They acquired defenceman Erik Gudbranson from Anaheim. They signed right winger Logan Shaw to a two-year contract and re-signed centre Matthew Peca to a one-year contract. They re-signed goaltender Matt Murray to a four-year contract.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers signed goaltender Brian Elliott to a one-year contract extension. They signed defenceman Justin Braun to a two-year contract extension. They signed defenceman Derrick Pouliot to a one-year contract.

Defenceman Matt Niskanen has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the first round, 28th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Dallas Stars, Niskanen has 356 points (72G, 284A) in 949 games, as well as 42 points (6G, 36A) in 140 playoff games, for Dallas (2007/08-partway through 2010/11), Pittsburgh (partway through 2010/11-2013/14), Washington (2014/15-2018/19), and Philadelphia (2019/20). Niskanen achieved all his career highs in 2014 with Pittsburgh, scoring 10 goals, 36 assists, and 46 points. He won the Stanley Cup in 2018 with Washington. He finished his final NHL season with 33 points (8G, 25A) in 68 games, all for Philadelphia. Niskanen, 33, had one more year left on his contract and appears to have decided to retire due to the coronavirus.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins signed goaltender Tristan Jarry to a three-year contract extension. They have placed defenceman Jack Johnson on waivers for the purposes of buying him out. They acquired left winger Jonathan Gruden and a 2020 second-round pick from Ottawa. They signed centre Sam Lafferty to a two-year contract extension. They signed centre Evan Rodrigues to a one-year contract. They signed centre Mark Jankowski to a one-year contract. They signed right winger Josh Currie to a one-year contract.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks acquired left winger Ryan Donato from Minnesota. They acquired goaltender Devan Dubnyk and a 2022 seventh-round pick from Minnesota. They signed defenceman Nicolas Meloche to a one-year contract extension. They signed left winger Jayden Halbgewachs to a two-year contract. They signed defenceman Jacob Middleton to a two-year contract extension. They signed centre Maxim Letunov to a one-year contract. They signed centre Antti Suomela to a one-year contract. St. Louis Blues
