Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks acquired left winger Nicolas Deslauriers from Montreal. They signed centre Andrew Poturalski and left winger Blake Pietila to a one-year contract. They signed goaltender Anthony Stolarz to a two-year contract and signed defenceman Jani Hakanpaa to a one-year contract. They signed right winger Andreas Martinsen to a one-year contract. Right winger Adam Cracknell has signed a one-year contract in China with the KHL’s Kunlun Redstar.

Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes acquired right winger Phil Kessel, defenceman Dane Birks, and a 2021 fourth-round pick from Pittsburgh. They signed goaltender Ivan Prosvetov to a three-year contract. They signed centre Andy Miele and defenceman Aaron Ness to two-year contracts and right winger Beau Bennett to a one-year contract. They re-signed left winger Lawson Crouse to a three-year contract. They re-signed right winger Hudson Fasching and left winger Michael Bunting to two-year contracts.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins signed right winger Brett Ritchie to a one-year contract. They signed goaltender Maxime Lagace to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Connor Clifton to a three-year contract extension. Defenceman Dylan Olsen, who last played in the NHL from 2013/14 to 2015/16 for Florida, has signed in Slovakia with the Tipsport Liga’s HK Nitra.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings signed right winger Martin Frk and defenceman Joakim Ryan to one-year contracts. They signed centre Mario Kempe to a one-year contract. Right winger Zack Mitchell has signed a one-year contract in Russia with the KHL’s Neftekhimik Nizhnekamsk.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild signed right winger Mats Zuccarello to a five-year contract. They signed right winger Ryan Hartman to a two-year contract. They signed centre Gabriel Dumont to a two-year contract. They signed centre Luke Johnson to a two-year contract. Defenceman Jonathon Blum, who last played in the NHL from 2013/14 to 2014/15 for Minnesota, has signed a two-year contract in Sweden with the SHL’s Farjestad BK.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens acquired 2020 second- and seventh-round picks and a 2021 third-round pick from Chicago. They acquired a 2020 fourth-round pick from Anaheim. They signed goaltender Keith Kinkaid to a one-year contract. They signed right winger Riley Barber to a one-year contract. They signed centre Sebastian Aho to a five-year offer sheet. They signed centre Phil Varone to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Ben Chiarot to a three-year contract. They signed centre Nick Cousins to a one-year contract.

Nashville Predators

The Predators signed centre Matt Duchene to a seven-year contract. They signed left winger Daniel Carr to a one-year contract.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils signed right winger Wayne Simmonds to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Dakota Mermis to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Matt Tennyson to a two-year contract. They signed centre Ben Street to a one-year contract.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers signed centre Kyle Criscuolo to a one-year contract. They signed centre Andy Andreoff and defenceman Nate Prosser to two-year contracts and right winger Kurtis Gabriel to a one-year contract. They signed goaltender Jean-Francois Berube and defenceman Andy Welinski to one-year contracts and defenceman Tyler Wotherspoon to a two-year contract. Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins acquired centre Alex Galchenyuk and defenceman Pierre-Olivier Joseph from Arizona. They signed right winger Brandon Tanev to a six-year contract extension. They signed defenceman David Warsofsky and centre Andrew Agozzino to two-year contracts. They re-signed left winger Joseph Blandisi to a one-year contract. They signed head coach Mike Sullivan to a four-year contract extension.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks re-signed right winger Timo Meier to a four-year contract. They re-signed defenceman Tim Heed to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Dalton Prout to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Artemi Kniazev to a three-year entry-level contract. They signed centre Zach Gallant to a three-year entry-level contract. They signed right winger Jonny Brodzinski to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Nikolai Knyzhov to a two-year entry-level contract.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues signed left wingers Nathan Walker and Evan Polei, centre Mike Vecchione, right winger Nick Lappin, and defencemen Derrick Pouliot and Jake Dotchin to two-year contracts. They re-signed right winger Sammy Blais to a one-year contract.

Defenceman Chris Butler has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the fourth round, 96th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres, Butler has 86 points (14G, 72A) in 407 games, as well as one assist in seven playoffs, for Buffalo (2008/09-2010/11), Calgary (2011/12-2013/14), and St. Louis (2014/15-2018/19). Butler achieved career-highs of 21 points and 20 assists in 2010 with Buffalo and three goals in 2015 with St. Louis. Butler spent the last five seasons of his career as a depth defenceman spending most of his playing time in the AHL. In his last season, Butler, 32, finished with two points (1G, 1A) in 14 games for St. Louis and 21 points in 51 games for the San Antonio Rampage. Butler was called up at the outset of the playoffs, spent the entire postseason as a Black Ace, and even lifted the Stanley Cup when the Blues won, but it is not yet known if he will get his name engraved as he played neither 41 regular season games or one game in the Stanley Cup Final, or the playoffs for that matter.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning signed goaltender Curtis McElhinney to a two-year contract. They signed defenceman Luke Schenn to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Luke Witkowski to a two-year contract. They signed goaltenders Scott Wedgewood and Spencer Martin and centre Chris Mueller to one-year contracts. They signed left winger Danick Martel to a one-year contract. They re-signed centre Cedric Paquette to a two-year contract. They re-signed centre Carter Verhaeghe to a one-year contract.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs signed goaltender Michael Hutchinson and defenceman Martin Marincin to one-year contract extensions. They acquired defencemen Cody Ceci and Ben Harpur, centre Aaron Luchuk, and a 2020 third-round pick from Ottawa. They signed defenceman Jason Spezza to a one-year contract. They signed right winger Kenny Agostino to a two-year contract. They signed defenceman Kevin Gravel to a one-year contract. They signed centre Nick Shore to a one-year contract. They acquired defenceman Tyson Barrie, centre Alexander Kerfoot, and a 2020 sixth-round pick from Colorado. They signed Ceci to a one-year contract extension and Kerfoot to a four-year contract extension.

Centre Colin Greening has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the seventh round, 204th overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft by the Ottawa Senators, Greening has 102 points (45G, 57A) in 286 games, as well as five points (3G, 2A) in 17 playoff games, for Ottawa (2010/11-partway through 2015/16) and Toronto (part of 2015/16). Greening reached his career-highs of 37 points, 17 goals, and 20 assists all in 2012 with Ottawa. After failing to return to those earlier heights, he found himself spending the bulk of the 2015/16 season in the AHL before being involved in the trade for Dion Phaneuf, and while Greening spent the remainder of the season on the Leafs’ roster, he wound up spending the final three seasons of his pro career in the AHL. Greening finished his final NHL season with 15 points (7G, 8A) in 31 games between Ottawa and Toronto in 2015/16, along with 13 points in 41 games for the AHL’s Binghamton Senators. Greening, 33, finished his final pro season with 14 points in 61 games for the AHL’s Toronto Marlies.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks bought out centre Ryan Spooner. They signed defenceman Oscar Fantenberg to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Tyler Myers to a five-year contract. They signed defenceman Jordie Benn to a two-year contract. They signed centre Tyler Graovac to a one-year contract. They signed goaltender Zane McIntyre to a two-year contract. They re-signed centre Tyler Motte to a one-year contract. They signed right winger Justin Bailey to a one-year contract. They re-signed left winger Josh Leivo to a one-year contract.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights signed right winger Patrick Brown and left winger Tyrell Goulbourne to two-year contracts and defencemen Brett Lernout and Jaycob Megna to one-year contracts. They re-signed left winger Tomas Nosek to a one-year contract and centre Brandon Pirri to a two-year contract.

Washington Capitals

The Capitals signed centre Michael Sgarbossa to a two-year contract extension. They signed right winger Garnet Hathaway to a four-year contract. They signed left winger Richard Panik to a four-year contract. They signed centre Philippe Maillet to a two-year contract. They signed left winger Brendan Leipsic to a one-year contract. They re-signed goaltender Vitek Vanecek to a three-year contract.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets re-signed defenceman Nathan Beaulieu to a one-year contract. They re-signed defenceman Cameron Schilling to a one-year contract. They signed defenceman Anthony Bitetto to a one-year contract. They signed centre Mark Letestu to a one-year contract. Defenceman Bogdan Kiselevich has signed a three-year in Russia with the KHL’s CSKA Moscow.
