This just about splits the asks which is fairly normal in arbitration awards. The hearing supposedly went on for a long time on Sunday and then the arbitrator actually made a late decision on his award. Now, Andrew Copp has to sign the contract for it to be official.
Copp is a hard player to put value on and while the Jets might not like this contract, he is a good player and this is money that is well spent. He is sound defensively, pushed play, plays on the penalty kill, and can help out at centre when needed.
