Game Two Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues

It is odd to say a team is facing a must win game in their second game in the playoffs, but the Winnipeg Jets are in that position after they lost home ice advantage in game one on Wednesday night in Winnipeg.

It was a heartbreaking game with the Jets coughing up their delicate one goal lead in the third period. The Jets had that lead thanks to Patrik Laine who might perform better when he has some sort of beard on his face. Here’s to playoff beard Patrik.

As for the rest of the Jets…they need some smarter decisions lineup wise. There is no reason that Sami Niku and Nathan Beaulieu are in the pressbox over three of the defencemen in the lineup. And there is no reason that the fourth line be the line that is on the ice when the tying goal is needed. They could be having a great game, but Laine or Mark Scheifele or Kyle Connor are more likely to score that goal every time.

The Jets are not in an impossible situation or even an improbable one; just one that they would really like to re-gain the control of through winning the game.
