The Winnipeg Jets are back to playing their Central Division rivals, the Chicago Blackhawks in tonights game which does not have any real playoff implications. This game is very important in how the Jets enter the playoffs because they have not put forth a consistent, game to game effort all season and it is worrying. The Jets are a fine team and last year proved that they have the players to win with. However, this season has been hard to watch as they have failed to put together whole games or when they do, they fall flat on their face the next game.
As for the Blackhawks, they are comfortably in no-man’s land now. They are no longer one of the worst teams in the league, but they are nowhere close to the playoffs either. They are just there in the worst place if you are a Hawks fan, but the best place if you do not cheer for them.
This does not mean the Hawks are a team that should be overlooked. They can still be dangerous and they have good enough goaltending that games can be stolen and they can outplay opponents at times. The key is to not let that happen tonight.
