Introduction:
This is the time of year when NHL teams start looking over their shoulders. And when the Jets look, they can see Central Division rivals quickly gaining on them in the fight for playoff position. St. Louis Blues have won their last two games; Dallas Stars have won their last four; and the Minnesota Wild shut out the Tampa Bay Lightning last night. I’m officially in panic/losing sleep level of worry that a week from now we may be talking about the Jets hanging on for a wildcard playoff spot. With only 16 games remaining, every game is important now for the Jets. They cannot afford a losing streak. Things will not be easy tonight as the Hurricanes have been playing very well and are in a playoff fight of their own. It looks like Laurent Brossoit will get the start tonight in goal, and Adam Lowry and Bryan Little will be in the line up despite missing practice on Thursday.
Random Prediction:
Andrew Copp scores a front of the net, grinder type goal
