The Jets take their four game win streak into Vegas

Introduction:

The Winnipeg Jets hot streak continued Wednesday night with their fourth win in a row, this time by a shut out victory against the Anaheim Ducks. Connor Hellebuyck stopped all 29 shots; goal scorers Mark Scheifele, Kyle Connor and Nikolaj Ehlers, all scored; and Ben Chiarot pinned a feisty Corey Perry to the ice when he had to. All in all, a very solid road victory for the Jets. The win helped the Jets stay three points ahead of the Nashville Predators with one game in hand. Things get tougher tonight for the Jets heading into Sin City.

Vegas has been on fire lately. The Golden Knights made a big splash at the trade deadline acquiring the top prize in the rental UFA market, Mark Stone. They’ve since signed him to a long term deal, and have gone 9 – 1 since acquiring him. Pretty, pretty good. In their last game the Golden Knights pummelled division rival San Jose Sharks 7 – 3. They appear to be peaking at just the right time and look like they’re going to be a tough playoff match up again.

Team Comparison:

Winnipeg Jets – 44-25-4 – winners of their last 4 games

Vegas Golden Knights – 41-27-5 – winners of their last 3 games

Random Prediction:

Kevin Hayes takes the “who was the best trade deadline acquisition” battle to heart, and scores a goal.

(New Category) Opposing Player I Dislike, But Would Like if He Were on My Team:

Deryk Engelland – A grizzled veteran defenseman who is just really tough to play against. I always end up thinking some forward needs to take a run at him, yet I know that would just make him tougher to play against.
