Recap: Winnipeg Jets vs Anaheim Ducks

The Winnipeg Jets defeated the Anaheim Ducks while sleepwalking to a 3-0 win so I feel like I should put forth the same effort as they did and still come out ahead.

The game started off with the Jets playing better than the Ducks which is a good thing. While the Ducks are still bad, they are not as bad as the Los Angeles Kings. Alas, the Jets played on neutral all night and still managed a win thanks to Connor Hellebuyck playing a real good game.

Let’s start with Hellebuyck: he played stellar tonight and should be lauded for his effort in the win. Without him playing so well, this game could have ended much differently. The Jets should start Laurent Brossoit tomorrow after playing the stronger goalie against the weaker team, setting the game against the San Jose Sharks to be a scheduled loss.

About that game tomorrow night: it might be a scheduled loss or a game that the coaching staff looked at on the schedule at the start of the season and decided they should focus on winning the first game in the back to back and hope and pray for game two. However, the Jets did not expand much energy tonight it seemed and that is a bonus for tomorrow.

The Jets field players played a decent game, but also seemed a bit off at times. There was one power play that the Jets just couldn’t get anything going on. However, this was not a problem tonight because the Ducks were very not good. It was fun to see.

Jets play again tomorrow at 9:00 PM. Be there or be square.
