Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs San Jose Sharks

Time: 7:00 PM CST

The Winnipeg Jets are once again playing a top team, this time the San Jose Sharks are in Winnipeg to play the Jets. The Jets will have their hands full with a team that is extremely deep on defence and has a bunch of little-known names up front that make up the Sharks fabulous depth.

The Sharks will most likely be without Erik Karlsson tonight as he has an injured groin. Unless I am missing an update on him, he is still out as of publishing. This does not mean the Sharks will not be loaded on defence still. They boast Brent Burns and Marc-Edouard Vlasic as well. Even without Karlsson, they are good.

The Jets are missing two of their top defencemen and it shows. While Nathan Beaulieu and Sami Niku are doing their best to hold down the fort, they are not Dustin Byfuglien and Josh Morrissey. Both players have the potential to return for the playoffs and the Jets are hoping they do.

As for the forwards; they are starting to look more cohesive. While Patrik Laine may not replicate his brilliance from the last two seasons, he has been looking better as of late and Kevin Hayes has looked great as the Jets second-line centre. Their depth is back to being excellent and hopefully they will be rolling by the playoffs.
