Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Minnesota Wild

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

After a busy trade deadline day yesterday, the Winnipeg Jets are back in action tonight against the now rebuilding Minnesota Wild. Paul Fenton was a busy man yesterday, trading Mikael Granlund to the Nashville Predators for Kevin Fiala. Fenton also traded Matt Hendricks to the Winnipeg Jets just because.

Anyways, the two teams had two very different deadlines and the results at the end of the season will probably reflect that.

This game could very possibly be the first game as a Jet for Kevin Hayes. It would make sense to see him end up in Bryan Little’s spot long-term, but short-term it might make sense to slip him in on the “fourth line” with Mathieu Perreault and Mason Appleton/Jack Roslovic until he gets a practice or two in.

As for the rest of the team, the team that showed up against the Vegas Golden Knights is needed, not he one that showed up against the Arizona Coyotes on Sunday night. As long as the “good” Jets show up, this should be a game. If the “bad” Jets show up then there may be some problems going forward. For now, we can anticipate that all the Jets new players play tomorrow even though it is unlikely they do.
