Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Ottawa Senators

Time: 6:00 PM CST

Channel: SN360, SN1

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Ottawa Senators again and they are looking for revenge in the form of a win. The Jets played a bad game when they were in Ottawa and are capable of so much more than they showed last time in Ottawa. As for the Sens; they would like the same outcome and game as the Jets played a week ago.

Player to Watch

Mark Stone if only because the Jets are rumoured to be a forerunner in trading for him. Stone is a terrific player and a Winnipeg boy to boot. While I don’t think he would solve all the Jets problems, he might be the distributer that would help unlock Patrik Laine from his slumber.

That is the other player to watch: Laine. While he still has not scored in forever, he has been looking better as of late and might just score a goal or five soon. He has been having a tough season overall and I think that it is important to remember that. Kyle Connor, who he gets compared to somewhat frequently, is a year and a half older. Both players are important to the Jets future and should be considered as such.

Key to the Game

The Jets need to show up for the first period and, as cliche as this sounds, play their game. Their actual game which involves them using their size and speed to basically stop the Sens. The Sens are a truly bad team, in fact they are the worst team in the NHL, and if the Jets come and play the game they are capable of playing, it should be no issue for them.

Prediction

The Jets play better than they have of late and win on a late goal from Laine.
