Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are playing the Detroit Red Wings who are not the Red Wings of the start of the decade. They are bad. Really bad. They have been rebuilding for a while now and do not have a lot to show for it. Now that they are fully committed to not making the playoffs, they are decidedly bad and not just holding on. It is a major change from the Wings that used to run like a machine, but probably one that they needed.

The Jets need to be careful to not be “trapped” by Detroit’s record and come out with their A game. I could see tonight’s game or Thursday’s game being one that Laurent Brossoit starts in to get him another start and allow Connor Hellebuyck a rest. Other than that, not much should change unless injuries occur.

Prediction:

The Winnipeg Jets lose to the Detroit Red Wings on a last second power play goal that goes in off of Josh Morrissey’s butt after hitting Blake Wheeler in the arm and making the goalie flail around trying to track the puck. It is absolutely bizarre and Wings fans are upset because more losses are better at this point.
