Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Florida Panthers

Time: 6:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets are going to Florida for a couple games before touring the American south for a couple more games. The Jets are looking to remain on their winning track. They ran into a very good goalie and a better team in their last game, but they should be able to bounce back in Florida.

The Panthers are a team who have more overtime losses than the Jets, but roughly the same record as the Jets have eight “pure” losses while the Panthers have four “pure” losses and five in overtime. It would be a good bet to make that this game is going to overtime tonight.

The Panthers biggest threat is Aleksander Barkov who is a phenomenal two-way player that deserves more appreciation. There are other strong players on the Panthers including Aaron Ekblad and Jonathan Huberdeau. There are more players on the Panthers who are considered decent NHLers much like the Jets players.

The other big name for the Panthers is goalie Sergei Bobrovsky. He has been struggling with the Panthers unlike when he was with the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Philadelphia Flyers. I have not had time to watch the Panthers at all lately, but he might be starting to turn his season around since his tough start.

As for the Jets, they are coming off of a tough game against the Colorado Avalanche where people noted how less aggressive the Jets are offensively than they used to be. This is mostly a personnel thing and something we might not see a change in unless there is a change in who is playing for the Jets.

Prediction:

The game goes to overtime. Seems likely with the Jets at this point.
