Morrissey, Kulikov out tonight

According to Paul Maurice, Josh Morrissey will not play tonight for precautionary reasons after he left warm ups for the Winnipeg Jets game on Sunday with an injury. He is practicing with full contact so his injury must not be serious.

The Jets will also be without Dimitry Kulikov tonight as he has been granted personal leave. He is a non-roster player. Hopefully he will be available for the Jets home opener. The Jets have also placed Bryan Little on injured reserve to open up a roster slot to call up a defenceman.

Speaking of call ups, the Jets have called up both Sami Niku and Nelson Nogier. Carl Dahlstrom will remain in the lineup and Niku will play as well. Nogier is insurance in case someone gets injured in warm ups again, Nogier will be available.

Paul Maurice also mentioned that tonight could be the NHL debut for David Gustafsson. If he is not going to play regularly, he should be sent back to Sweden where he can continue developing instead of becoming a big time popcorn connoisseur. Young players should be playing and it is helping no one for Gustafsson to not play. The Jets needs to change that.
