NHL: New Jersey Devils at Carolina Hurricanes James Guillory-USA TODAY Sports

Anaheim Ducks

The Ducks reassigned centre Isac Lundestrom to AHL San Diego. Left winger Nick Ritchie has been fined $4121.86 for roughing Buffalo’s Vladimir Sobotka.

Arizona Coyotes

The Coyotes recalled defenceman Kyle Capobianco from AHL Tucson. Centre David Ullstrom, who was last under contract in the NHL with Arizona in 2018/19, has signed in Switzerland with the National League A’s EHC Biel.

Boston Bruins

The Bruins made no moves this week.

Buffalo Sabres

The Sabres recalled centre Curtis Lazar from AHL Rochester. They reassigned Lazar.

Calgary Flames

The Flames made no moves this week. Defenceman Ryan Sproul, who attended training camp with Calgary in 2018, has signed a one-year contract in China with the Kunlun Redstar.

Carolina Hurricanes

The Hurricanes recalled centre Brian Gibbons from AHL Charlotte. They reassigned right winger Julien Gauthier. They reassigned Gibbons.

Chicago Blackhawks

The Blackhawks reassigned centre Kirby Dach to AHL Rockford for conditioning purposes.

Colorado Avalanche

The Avalanche reassigned defenceman Kevin Connauton to AHL Colorado.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Blue Jackets reassigned centre Liam Foudy to AHL Cleveland.

Dallas Stars

The Stars reassigned right wingers Nicholas Caamano and Joel L’Esperance to AHL Texas. They recalled right winger Denis Gurianov.

Detroit Red Wings

The Red Wings reassigned right winger Evgeny Svechnikov to AHL Grand Rapids. They reassigned centre Chase Pearson. Left winger Darren Helm has been fined $5000 for slashing Calgary’s Elias Lindholm.

Edmonton Oilers

The Oilers reassigned centre Colby Cave to AHL Bakersfield. They recalled defenceman William Lagesson.

Florida Panthers

The Panthers made no moves this week.

Los Angeles Kings

The Kings recalled left winger Nikolai Prokhorkin from AHL Ontario and reassigned defenceman Tobias Bjornfot and right winger Carl Grundstrom.

Minnesota Wild

The Wild recalled centre Gerald Mayhew from AHL Iowa.

Montreal Canadiens

The Canadiens made no moves this week.

Nashville Predators

The Predators made no moves this week.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils reassigned defenceman Matt Tennyson to AHL Binghamton. They signed centre Nico Hischier to a seven-year contract extension.

New York Islanders

The Islanders recalled centre Oliver Wahlstrom from AHL Bridgeport. They reassigned defenceman Bode Wilde. Defenceman Milan Jurcina, who last played in the NHL for the Islanders from 2010/11 to 2011/12, has signed a one-month tryout contract in Czechia with the Czech Extraliga’s HC Sparta Praha.

New York Rangers

The Rangers made no moves this week.

Ottawa Senators

The Senators reassigned left winger Vitaly Abramov to AHL Belleville. They recalled left wingers Nick Paul and Jordan Szwarz.

Philadelphia Flyers

The Flyers signed right winger Chris Stewart to a one-year contract. They reassigned centre Connor Bunnaman to AHL Lehigh Valley.

Pittsburgh Penguins

The Penguins made no moves this week.

San Jose Sharks

The Sharks reassigned defenceman Trevor Carrick to AHL San Jose. They reassigned right winger Danil Yurtaykin.

St. Louis Blues

The Blues signed right winger Mathias Laferriere to a three-year entry-level contract.

Right winger Chris Thorburn has retired from pro hockey. Drafted in the second round, 50th overall, in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft, Thorburn has 134 points (53G, 81A) in 801 games, as well as zero points in four playoff games, for Buffalo (2005/06), Pittsburgh (2006/07), Atlanta/Winnipeg (2007/08-2016/17), and St. Louis (2017/18-2018/19). Thorburn’s career-highs are 19 points and nine goals in 2010/11 with Atlanta and 13 assists in 2008 with Atlanta. Spending the vast majority of his career with the Thrashers/Jets, Thorburn’s main role as a fourth-line enforcer. Though not a very effective player at much of anything, he was tough and good in the room. Thorburn’s playing time was reduced dramatically after 2017. He was claimed in the expansion draft by Vegas as part of an a swap of first-round picks and then traded to St. Louis, where he scored seven points (1G, 6A) in 50 games, in what would be his last real NHL season. Thorburn finished his last season with seven points in 40 games for AHL San Antonio and zero points in one game for St. Louis. Thorburn, 36, was considered a part of the team’s Stanley Cup victory and accompanied the team to the White House for their championship visit.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning made no moves this week.

Toronto Maple Leafs

The Maple Leafs recalled defenceman Kevin Gravel from AHL Toronto and reassigned defenceman Rasmus Sandin. Defenceman Steven Oleksy, who was last under contract in the NHL with Toronto in 2018/19, has been released from his PTO with AHL Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Oleksy has signed a one-year contract with AHL Toronto.

Vancouver Canucks

The Canucks recalled goaltender Zane McIntyre from AHL Utica. They recalled defenceman Ashton Sautner. They reassigned McIntyre.

Vegas Golden Knights

The Golden Knights recalled goaltender Oskar Dansk from AHL Chicago. Left winger Valentin Zykov has been suspended for violating the NHL’s PED policy.

Washington Capitals

The Capitals recalled centre Travis Boyd and defenceman Martin Ferhervary from AHL Hershey.

Winnipeg Jets

The Jets recalled defenceman Nelson Nogier from AHL Manitoba.
