First Period
The seasonβs second match-up between the Nashville Predators and Winnipeg Jets did not disappoint. The first period was quick-paced and each side laid out their fair share of hits. Mid-way through the first, Brendan Lemieux drove into the offensive zone and got the wraparound past Pekka Rinne.
A few minutes later, Ryan Johansen was called for hi-sticking against Mark Scheifele after an apparent karate chop to the side of the head. Blake Wheeler scored on the power play but it was immediately challenged by Laviolette and called back on the offside.
To end the period, Wheeler received a hi-sticking call against Johansen and yet Scheiffele is once again the one worse for wear. Shots even at 11 and the Jets were up 1-0.
Okay. Cool @NHL you wanna callback that Wheeler goal in the @NHLJets @PredsNHL game? How about reviewing this brutal Johansen lumberjack chop on Mark Scheifele?? #Headhunter #WOW #SuspensionWorthy pic.twitter.com/TaS1ENRniW

Second Period
About three minutes into the second, the Jets were rewarded again. Sami Niku maintained the zone and Mason Appleton got possession. Appleton had a dandy, little spin-o-rama pass back to Niku who sent it over to Joe Morrow who shipped it right back to Appleton and my god, that was something else. Jets up 2-0.
Just over halfway through the second, Connor Hellebuyck gave up a rebound off the initial shot by Ryan Ellis and Viktor Arvidsson capitalized, cutting the Jetsβ lead in half. The Jets werenβt done, however. Jack Roslovic with the back pass to Patrik Laine but it was Bryan Little who made good on the rebound.
3-1 Jets and shots were still pretty even at 25-24 in favour of Winnipeg after 40.
Little extends his point streak on this one! 3-1! #NHLJets #GoJetsGo pic.twitter.com/7rK8vqhAmA

Third Period
About two minutes into the third, Niku threw a hard shot towards Rinne and Brandon Tanev got the tip. With four minutes left in the game, Lemiuex scored his second of the game after his bad angle shot goes off of Yannick Weberβs skate. Jets up 5-1.
A game marked by great defensive play and the fourth line taking charge. Jets take this one and life couldnβt be sweeter.
Niku or Tanev scored. Not sure who, but it's ok. The score is 4-1. #NHLJets #GoJetsGo pic.twitter.com/5DLDosBBxc
