Stop me if this sounds familiar, but the season Luke Green had last year was derailed before it could begin thanks to a shoulder injury suffered in Winnipeg Jets training camp.

Despite the injury, the Jets decided to give their 3rd round pick in the 2016 draft a three-year entry level contract that slid over to start this upcoming year.

Green had been doing quite well in the Q with the Sherbrooke Phoenix in 2016-17, and ended the year with a four game stint with the Manitoba Moose that saw him pick up his first pro point (an assist).

Upon return from injury, Green performed quite well, putting up 15 points in 14 QMJHL games to wrap up his junior career.

Green was in camp for the Jets this fall, but did not feature in any pre-season games before being sent down on Wednesday.

Green is 20-years-old, which gives him the nod over Nelson Nogier, as the two years of age difference give Green that much more time to grow into an NHL player.
