Preview and GDT: Winnipeg Jets vs. Calgary Flames

The Winnipeg Jets will play the Calgary Flames tonight in a game that is much more likely to go well than their foray into pre-season hockey last night. For one, they will be playing a much stronger roster and they will also be at home.

There is no news on the lines yet, but Connor Hellebuyck will start and will be backed up by Mikhail Berdin. Considering the Jets have given both Eric Comrie and Laurent Brossoit whole games, it would not be surprising to see Hellebuyck go the distance as well.

We will see the pre-season debut of Dmitry Kulikov as well. Kulikov seemed to have been nicked up at the start of camp, but he is ready to go now. The Jets will also be breaking out their first line from last season, which signals that things are ramping up.

Expect cuts late tonight or tomorrow.

Lastly, some sad news: it is unknown when Nic Petan will return to the team as his father died suddenly a fews days ago.
