The Winnipeg Jets have never had a traditional third jersey since they moved to Winnipeg in 2011. Unlike the Atlanta Thrashers who had a gorgeous maroon third, TNSE did not design something until now. According to Icethetics, they will be getting a traditional third jersey to wear when the team sees fit, possibly even this season.
Can now confirm this leaked @NHLJets third jersey is accurate. Here’s a higher resolution image and a blog update.

While the jersey is nice and simple, it reminds me of t-shirts I used to wear when I was a kid. The stripping seems to not fit that well and with only the lettering, the jersey itself seems incomplete. If the Jets traditional shoulder patch was used instead of the lettering with nothing else, the jersey would look more complete than it currently does.

While it is nice to give a third option to fans (who adored the vintage Heritage Classic look a couple seasons ago), this jersey does not seem to have been a jersey that they worked on for long and that is a shame.
