The Winnipeg Jets select Declan Chisholm 150th overall and Giovanni Vallati 153rd overall

The Winnipeg Jets have selected Declan Chisholm 150th overall. Chisholm is a defenceman for the Peterborough Petes of the OHL. He had 20 points including three goals this past season. He is 6’1” and 185 pounds. The only age-group tournament he has played in was the Under-17 challenge where he recorded two assists in six games.

The Petes have an interview with Chisholm where you can find out more about the Jet.

With the 153rd overall pick the Jets went with defence again and seem to have drafted the same player twice in Giovanni Vallanti. Just like Chilsholm, he had three goals last year, but 23 points instead of 20. He plays for the Kitchener Rangers in the Ontario Hockey League.

This is the Jets trying to build up their defensive depth, which has always appeared thin at the professional level. Hopefully both these players help change that.
