Winnipeg Jets announce pre-season schedule

The Winnipeg Jets have announced a seven game pre-season schedule that opens on September 17 against the Minnesota Wild and closes on September 27 against the New Jersey Devils. The Jets will play four games at home with one game in Calgary, one in Edmonton, and one in Minnesota.

The Jets are playing one game under the league maximum and is close to the perfect amount of games a team can play. We can expect the early games to feature many younger players and the Jets being close to the veteran minimum needed for them while the later games should be close to the opening day roster.

There will not be many battles in camp unless the Jets do something radical this summer. A lot will depend on this summer, but with the most pressing need being to replace Toby Enstrom, the Jets might simply end up testing different players in that role over the seven games.
