Game Five Preview: Winnipeg Jets versus Nashville Predators

Time: 8:30 PM CST

Channel: CBC, SN360, TVAS, NBCSN

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets look to bounce back from a winnable game four where they simply did not have the legs to keep up with the Nashville Predators for stretches of the game. The Jets did score one goal late and came close to scoring the tying goal, it was not enough.

While many expected game four to mark the return of Mathieu Perreault, but it did not. Joel Armia did return to the line up. Hopefully, Perreault does return tonight and the Jets get back to their top nine/fourth line format. This format not only allows for more skill in the line up, but also sets the Jets up well to handle a long overtime if the game goes there because they can have a more-balanced playing time.

The Jets have to find a way to stop the quiet breakout of PK Subban this series. With goals in consecutive games on the power play; shutting down Subban and the Predators power play is of the utmost importance.

Lastly, the Jets need Nikolaj Ehlers and Kyle Connor to snap out of their slumps. Patrik Laine finally scored a goal in the series and both Ehlers and Connor have been getting looks. The two of them breaking out would only help the Jets more and they both look like they are about to explode.

Prediction:

I remember to take my medicine on time tonight and the Jets will make me stay up late because of overtime.
