Centre Keith Aucoin. who last played in the NHL for St. Louis in 2013/14, has retired from pro hockey. Signed as an undrafted free agent in 2001 by the Carolina Hurricanes, Aucoin has 48 points (17G, 41A) in 145 games, as well as five points (0G, 5A) in 20 playoff games, for Carolina (2005/06-2007/08), Washington (2008/09-2011/12), the Islanders (2012/13), and St. Louis (2013/14). Aucoin, a career depth player and AHL lifer, joined the Swiss National League in 2014/15 before spending three seasons in Germany. In his most recent pro season, he had 63 points (11G, 52A) in 52 games and 15 points (4G, 11A) in 17 playoff games for the DEL’s EHC Munchen. Aucoin, 39, retires with zero points in two NHL games in his most recent NHL season and has career-highs of 13 points in 2008 with Carolina, six goals in 2013 with the Islanders, and eight assists in 2008 with Carolina.
