Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Chicago Blackhawks

Time: 6:00 PM CDT

Channel: TSN3, WGN

Radio: TSN1290

Nothing left to play for but…two records for Connor Hellebuyck.

The Winnipeg Jets (51-20-10) square off against the Chicago Blackhawks (33-38-10) tonight at Bell MTS Place, as Hellebuyck looks to move into sole possession of the record for most wins by an American goalie in a season, and into a tie for the record for most home wins by a goaltender in NHL history (30, set by Wayne Stephenson of the Flyers in 1975-76).

They take on the Chicago Blackhawks, who, despite a disappointing season have gotten the better of the Jets in three of their four meeting this season, most recently suffering a 6-2 drubbing in March.

Patrik Laine needs a hat trick at minimum to tie Alex Ovechkin for the Maurice Rocket Richard Trophy. It’s a long shot, but he’s done it four times in his short career so it’s possible.

One of the biggest goals for the Jets in this game will be to stay sharp and stay healthy. Jacob Trouba picked up an injury yesterday in practice after a collision with Brandon Tanev, and I doubt he plays tonight.

Get this one out of the way, get through it healthy and then focus on the Minnesota Wild.
