Game Two Preview: Winnipeg Jets at Nashville Predators

Time: 6:00 PM CST

Channel: CBC, SN360, TVAS, NBCSN

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets (1-0) are entering game two against the Nashville Predators (0-1) needing to play better than they played in game one. While they were able to limit Nashville to shots from the outside, they struggled with breakouts and gaining the Predators zone.

The good news for the Jets is that Pekka Rinne is beatable to them and they know it. Making a good goalie mortal is important for any team in the playoffs where the chance to get goalied in a series is at an all-time high.

The key to game two is the Jets being able to actually handle the Predators and start playing their game which is fast and skilled. They can activate Nikolaj Ehlers to help with zone entries while using all their players to help with exits. Most importantly, they can limit how much they have to rely on Ben Chiarot and Tyler Myers. While Myers has had some strong moments, especially in the regular season when he was paired Dmitry Kulikov.

Prediction:

Um, the Winnipeg Jets play better then they did on Friday night and they manage to at least serve notice that they are to be taken seriously in this series.
