Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs Detroit Red Wings

Time: 7:00 PM CST

Channel: TSN3, FS-D+

Radio: TSN1290

After coming off the high-scoring and disappointing game against the Nashville Predators on Tuesday, the Winnipeg Jets (37-17-9) will be looking to get back into the win column as they face the Detroit Red Wings (26-27-10) at home.

Twice blowing two-goal leads in the loss to the Preds, the 6-5 loss final outcome had to sting a bit for the players, and should serve as motivation going forward.

Connor Hellebuyck will also be looking to bounce back in his next outing, though tonight may be an opportunity for Michael Hutchinson to get in and give Hellebuyck a longer rest. The Jets’ starter has already surpassed his minutes played total from last year, and will need to be fresh once the postseason starts.

Detroit’s most recent outing was a 2-1 loss to the Blues on Wednesday, which ended a seven game losing streak for St. Louis. The Red Wings are sitting seven points back of Columbus for the final wildcard spot in the East. Detroit is 5-4-1 in their last 10, while Winnipeg is 6-4-0.

Toby Enstrom will miss a second straight game after blocking a shot in practice. Jacob Trouba misses his 14th straight game, Adam Lowry misses his 12th and Steve Mason will play a game for the Manitoba Moose this weekend. Mason has been out since January 12th with his second concussion of the season.
