Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs. Colorado Avalanche

Time: 6:00 PM CST

TV: Sportsnet

Radio: TSN1290

The Winnipeg Jets will face the Colorado Avalanche tonight to start Super Bowl weekend. They will be doing so without the services of Adam Lowry who re-aggravated his injury that he just came back from. The Avs are without Nathan MacKinnon who is out without a shoulder injury. Hopefully the Jets will be able to take advantage of a depleted Avs team.

The Jets are coming off of a 3-2 overtime loss to the Vegas Golden Knights that featured a controversial goal and a power play that looked closer to last year’s than this year’s. Outside of that, the Jets are the better team tonight and should be able to handle the MacKinnon-less Avs. Connor Hellebuyck will be in net again tonight.

What to Watch For:

Winnipeg Jets: the fourth line will have both Kyle Connor and Marko Dano on it. Last time this happened, it meant good things for the Jets. Hopefully Dano can play well enough to stay in the lineup this time.

Colorado Avalanche: I’ll be honest, I have not really paid much attention to the Avs this year. I guess I would watch for how they are coping without MacKinnon as they no longer have Matt Duchene to fill in for him. Poorly researched, I know, but how have they’ve been doing sans MacKinnon?

Prediction:

Jets win and I don’t get bored enough watching them that I nap during the game.
