Rumour: Winnipeg Jets interested in Mark Letestu

The Winnipeg Jets are still trying to find that elusive centre on the trade market and after losing out on both Tomas Plekanec and Derick Brassard, they have shifted their focus to the Edmonton Oilers and Mark Letestu.

Letestu is a positive possession player and was usually on the third or fourth line. He is a great power play guy and like others, never complains about his role. He would probably be suitable for the third or fourth line centre spot until Lowry returns and then would be great on the fourth line instead of Matt Hendricks.

The good news is the Jets clearly have a list of players they are trying to get. This is not a year where Kevin Cheveldayoff is sitting by and not trading anyone or upgrading any position. There is little a general manager can do when a better offer is given and they do not want to overpay for a player. Hopefully he gets his centre at some point.
