Mark Scheifele is the NHL’s Third Star

Out of the infirmary and into the stars.

After making his triumphant return from injury, Mark Scheifele left his mark on the Winnipeg Jets games this week by recording seven points, including three goals, in three games. His efforts have been recognized by the NHL by being named the third star of the week.

It has been a good week overall for the Jets. They are slowly starting to get players back from injury and are finding lines that meet everyone’s strengths. If they continue down this path and do not change their playing style in the playoffs, they will be in good shape.

Outside of his award-winning play, Scheifele has looked like himself on the ice which is far more important than wins or points. Having a fully healthy and comfortable Scheifele back is a key to the Jets continued success. Now that he is back, they have fewer players filling in for injured players out of their normal positions or roles.
