Broadcast Schedule

When the Winnipeg Jets and St. Louis Blues square off for the fourth and final time of the 2018-19 regular season tonight, injuries and how the teams overcome them are certain to play a role.

As we enter the middle third of the season, both teams are a little banged up. While it appears that the Jets will see Dustin Byfuglien and Dmitry Kulikov return to the lineup, they will still most likely be without Josh Morrissey, Joe Morrow and Andrew Copp when the puck drops.

Their opponents are also no strangers to the sick bay, as they have a number of players missing or possibly missing the game. Robby Fabbri, former Jets prospect Erik Foley, Carl Gunnarsson, Alex Pietrangelo and possibly Alex Steen and Vladimir Tarasenko will miss tonight’s game. Steen is coming off of a concussion, while Tarasenko exited St. Louis’ game against the Oilers early on Wednesday night.

Both teams feature starting goalies playing below their capabilities. Connor Hellbuyck has a very pedestrian .905 save percentage this year, while Jake Allen has struggled to a .899. Backup Chad Johnson hasn’t been any better, and both goalies were powerless to stop Patrik Laine’s five goal performance the last time these two teams met.

St. Louis Blues Coverage: St. Louis Game Time

Last Jets Game:

Winnipeg Jets 3-1 New York Islanders

Scoreless after two, a quick trio of goals in the early part of second period saw the Jets grab a 2-1 lead that Nikolaj Ehlers eventually expanded to 3-1. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 27 of 28 shots against, as the Jets went 3-0-0 on their road trip.

Last Islanders Game:

Edmonton Oilers 3-2 (SO) St. Louis Blues

Oscar Klefbom scored in the final minute, as the Oilers came back from a 2-0 hole. Connor McDavid then scored the winner in shootout, which doesn’t really help my fantasy team, but oh well.

Players to watch:

To quote Captain John H. Miller from Saving Private Ryan: “Earn this.”

St. Louis Blues

How is Jay Bouwmeester still in the NHL? He was last good like…five years ago. Seriously, he’s not good. Even ask Blues fans, they’ll agree.
