Preview: Winnipeg Jets vs San Jose Sharks

Introduction:

The Winnipeg Jets hot streak ended Tuesday night against bottom feeder NHL team the Los Angeles Kings. I hope any A or B list celebrity fans in attendance enjoyed the game, because Winnipeg fans did not. Games like that happen during an 82 game season, but, it certainly did not make it any easier to watch us get dominated by such an inferior opponent. Tonight will be a much bigger test against the San Jose Sharks. The Sharks are coming off of a convincing win Tuesday night against the Minnesota Wild.   On paper the Sharks have an extremely talented roster, but, for the most part have been under performing. Superstar rental player Erik Karlsson has a solid 23 points this season, which is pretty far from his previous superstar pace. It could be that Father Time and multiple injuries has impacted his  production. Joe Pavelski, Logan Couture and Brent Burns still pace the Sharks attack. Old pal Evander Kane is still producing at a decent pace, and rocking track suits.

Record: 22 10 2 Record: 19 11 5
Last Ten Games: 8 2 Last Ten Games: 7 3
Who Is Hot: Mark Schiefele. Vote him into the All Star game, please. Who Is Hot: Timo Meier is on pace for his best season ever.
Who Is Not: Connor Hellebuyck. He did not look good against LA. Paging Vezina level Hellebuyck. Who Is Not: Erik Karlsson. He is not the Karlsson of a few years ago. Also poor San Jose fans have to spend the entire season wondering if he'll resign or whether they even want him to.
Keep an Eye On: Dustin Byfuglien versus Evander Kane. Pretty sure Buff genuinely does not like him, and I love watching him try to line him up for hits. Keep an Eye On: Martin Jones. Let in three goals in four shots against Chicago, and followed up with a shut out against Minnesota. Which player shows up against the Jets?
